We welcome volunteers. In fact, PARNS cannot exist without dedicated teams of volunteers. We have identified seven ways in which a person can choose to volunteer for PARNS in-house:

  1. Content Curation: This volunteer team creates standards for screening submissions and meets monthly as a group to determine the inclusion of new content. As much as possible, the team consists of professionals: journalists, filmmakers, writers, photographers, artists.
  2. Sourcing Stories and Content: This volunteer team is in the field talking to people.
  3. Fundraising and Proposals: This volunteer team tries to develop long term funding strategies and applies for small grants.
  4. Promotion and Audience Communication: This volunteer team promotes the work of PARNS to a wider audience.
  5. Technology and Website Design: This volunteer team administers the website on a regular basis and also problem solves any technical issues.
  6. Networking and Partnerships: This volunteer team networks with groups all across Nova Scotia with the purpose of creating networks and forming partnerships.
  7. Strategic Planning and Capacity Building: This volunteer team determines assets and gaps, mobilizes the volunteers to address these gaps, and seeks ways to keep PARNS sustainable.
