PARNS: Carol Affour from Montréal at Tim Horton Camp at Tatamagouche
Carol Affour, with her parents and younger brother, are settled in Montréal. Carol's teacher in her Welcome class, recommended her to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation as a candidate for their summer camp. Tim Horton camps focus on leadership. There are a number of Tim Horton camps across Canada, and it was a 10 day stay at the camp in Tatamagouche that was offered to Carol. She is particpating in an activity that introduces entrepreneuship, as well as dealing with social justice.

The Tim Horton Children's Foundation camps offer programs that help youth develop the skills they need to become resourceful, responsible and empowered individuals.

Camp offered Carol her first opportunity to meet and become friends with youth who are Canadians by birth, as all the students in her Welcome class at school are newly arrived refugees or immigrants like her. Carol is looking forward to going back to camp next summer.
